The dark time of the year is coming. I am concentrating on not missing the sun before it's gone.. late fall is the hardest part of the year for me, and I dread it. I slug about the house, semi-comatose, and eat too much. I struggle to do the classes I signed up for when it was still bright, and often procrastinate more and enjoy the class less than at any other time of the year. I get depressed about the state of my house, and do nothing about it. I get frustrated and cry easily.
So, welcome, fall. Welcome to the beautiful leaves, and the crisp air. Welcome to fresh, local apples and squash. Welcome to fat squashy raindrops that leave the air clean and fresh. Welcome to steely-grey skies that are gentle on the eyes. Welcome to the heavy, warm winter blankets, and the luxury of a warm bed in a cold room. Welcome to winter storms, with hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace.
But hurry, spring.
